Featured Image: Stars Over Mariposa. On August 6th, 2024, I drove to a hilltop north of the Gold Rush town of Mariposa, California, set up my camera and waited for darkness to capture the attached photograph of our Milky Way galaxy arcing over the town. This is a combination of 17 individual 24 second exposures, taken with a tripod-mounted astro-modified Canon EOS R camera with a 14 mm Rokinon lens. It was processed with Adobe Photoshop, Pixinsight and Sequator software to reduce noise and bring out color and details in the Milky Way.
